National American Miss

This weekend I entered the National American Miss California (North) pageant. Being the first pageant I've ever entered, I had no idea what to expect, and was admittedly a little skeptical about how the whole thing would turn out. However, it turned out to be an amazing experience. I ended up meeting a lot of my future classmates from Chapman, which is a very pageant oriented school, apparently. I also participated in two of the optional contests: acting and casual wear, but what I am really proud about is the fact that I was placed among the top 15 semifinalists for the overall California pageant event. For my first time ever, not too shabby! I definitely am planning on returning next year, and I strongly recommend participating in National American Miss to any girls who are good at or want to improve at public speaking. It was an experience I do not regret!
